As I have finished machining everything and now I have started shaping the tricky curves...
This is a jig/sanding block, it allows me to make sure I follow the same radius as the one in the drawing in this particular curve. I will use this technique to shape different curves/areas of the train.
For now I've got all the major pieces milled. And I think tomorrow I can start hand shaping it.
I've hollowed the shell to fit the wheels later and to make the overall model lighter.
I've also chopped this piece in the back, to later carve the smooth curve.
I've used the milling machine to cut the excess material from the middle ridge and sides. My aim, before I start hand sculpting the more organic shapes, is to mill as much excess material as possible from the block. It creates more guidelines for when I sculpt it later, and it ensures that the proportions and its symmetry are all ok.
